AWAWR Youth visited UBC (The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America) InĀ April 2026 for an exciting field trip, where they explored carpentry as a skilled trade and discovered the many career pathways within the field.
One key takeaway: carpentry is more than just a job; it’s a career, with the union offering purpose, structure, and a strong sense of brotherhood.
The youth also gained hands-on experience by building scaffolding and learning how to work safely, including proper use of equipment and safety gear.
Special thanks to Matt, Ryan, and UBC for hosting and guiding this impactful experience.
